Clerks Fight Robbers During Theft
LA MESA -- Liquor store clerks trying to stop booze thieves exchanged blows with the robbers Saturday night on Severin Drive, but couldn't stop the robbers.
Police said that at 7:04 p.m., they received a report of a fight occurring in the 5900 block of Severin Drive. When officers arrived, they discovered that the fight was actually an altercation between the liquor store employees and suspects that had stolen alcohol.
The employees chased the suspects that included two males and two females out of the store and a fight ensued. During the fight, both employees were hit in the face by the two male suspects and sustained bruising, but refused medical attention. The loss was a bottle of alcohol. The suspects were last seen running south on Severin Drive. A search of the area by La Mesa police and the Sheriff's helicopter failed to find the suspects.
The suspects were described as follows:
Suspect #1- Hispanic male adult, approximately 5’ 5”, medium build, mid-twenties, shaved head and mustache. The suspect was wearing a white tank top and jeans.
Suspect #2- Hispanic male adult, approximately 5’ 5”, medium build, mid-twenties. Unknown clothing description.
Suspect #3- Hispanic or Filipino female adult, approximately 4’ 0”, thin build, mid twenties with long black hair. She was wearing a beige shirt and jeans.
Suspect #4- Hispanic female adult, approximately 5’ 0”, 140 pounds, curly dark shoulder length hair, wearing a leopard print shirt.
