Youth Robbed of Cell Phone On University Avenue

WEST UNIVERSITY AVENUE -- La Mesa Police are looking for three robbery suspects who stole a cell phone from a 16-year-old victim as he walked near the Jack in the Box restaurant at 6987 University Avenue Tuesday evening.

 

Police say the 16 year old male victim was approached at about 5:20 p.m. by three black male juveniles who demanded his cell phone.  One of the suspects grabbed the victim’s phone while the other two kicked and punched him. The suspects were last seen running south. The victim had abrasions and some bruising from the incident.  

 

The suspects are described as:

 

1) Black male juvenile, 16-17 years old, wearing a red hoodie sweatshirt with unknown colored pants, about 5’8 with an average build.
2) Black male juvenile, 16-17, wearing a blue hoodie sweatshirt, about 5’4”, average build.
3) Black male juvenile, 16-17, wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt, about 5’8” with an average build.
