NORMAL AVENUE – A La Mesa woman was struck in the face and had her cell phone robbed as she walked along the 7600 block of Normal Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the woman was walking at about 1:27 p.m. and was texting on her phone when she was accosted by a black male adult who approached on foot from the opposite direction. The victim was punched by the attacker who then fled to a gold sports utility vehicle nearby. The victim complained of pain in her face, but did not require medical attention.

The suspect was described as a black male, 18 to 19 years old, 6 feet tall and about 220 pounds with a wide nose. He was wearing purple hat, purple shirt and purple and black camouflage pants.

A second suspect in the car was described as a black, adult male of unknown age, heavy set, dark hair with short dreadlocks.

You can remain anonymous, and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
