AZTEC PARK -- A woman walking her dog in the park Wednesday evening was grabbed from behind and hit by an unknown assailant.
La Mesa police said the 30-year-old woman was walking in the southeast portion of Aztec Park, which is located in the Baltimore Drive/Lake Murray Boulevard area, when she was grabbed from behind by a man and hit in the right side of the head. Police said the assailant didn't say anything before or after the assault.
A search of the area immediately after the assault did not find the perpetrator.
The victim suffered bruising and swelling to her right cheek but refused medical attention.
The suspect was described as being of an undetermined race, 5’6” tall, 150 pounds with a thin build, wearing a grey hoodie and jeans.
