LA MESA -- More than 1,000 volunteers are needed to take over San Diego and Imperial County intersections to collect donations that will support San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House® during its second annual Red Shoe Day.
On Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. “Street Team” volunteers are needed to gather cash donations in iconic size-14 red shoes at major intersections and roadside locations throughout San Diego County.
The charity is looking for volunteer teams from La Mesa to staff the following local intersections.

Volunteers are encouraged to have fun during their service by wearing crazy wigs, making noise and collecting a “boot-load” of contributions for the charity, which offers a range of services – including food, lodging and emotional support – to the families of critically ill or injured children being treated at San Diego-area hospitals.
