The Music of Christmas

“The music of Christmas…covers our lives with a hopeful blanket of sound and reminds us that even in the silence of winter, there is song…Each tradition offers its own rich vocabulary of holiday carols…the message of God’s love leaps from the pages of our songbooks and finds a home in…our hearts.”

These words, from composer Joseph Martin, capture the spirit and beauty of his cantata, “Tapestry of Light,” which will be presented by the Chancel Choir of The Table:  The United Church of Christ of La Mesa as the 10:00am worship service on Sunday, December 14, 2014.  Conducted by Joanne Skinner and accompanied by Valerie Victor, Joan Knoernschild and the Grossmont Symphony String Quartet, “Tapestry” will be narrated by Sam Buchenau and Rick Harby and will feature soloists Andrea Clare, Shelby Krug and Zachary Krug.

We invite you to share the special magic of Martin’s music with us.  You’ll find us at 5940 Kelton Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91942 (619-464-1519, www.tableucc.com).  We’re an Open and Affirming congregation:  All are welcome!
