Racial Justice in San Diego:  A Discussion Series

“Do Justice, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly with God”

In 2015 the Partnership for Racial Justice presented a widely attended series of Sacred Conversations on Race.  In 2016, continuing and expanding the conversation, they are pleased to offer four new discussions:

Racial Justice Issues in City Heights and Southeast San Diego…

 

All events will start with light snacks at 6:30pm and last 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

 

  1. April 19 (Tuesday) at Christian Fellowship Congregational Church, 1601 Kelton Road, San Diego9 92114:

 

Voting Rights and Voter Registration Workshop.   Learn how voting rights are being eroded right here in San Diego.  Talk about being part of a voter registration project.

 

  1. May 17 (Tuesday) at Kensington UCC, 4773 Marlborough Drive, San Diego 92116

 

Anti-Racism and Facing White Privilege.  Speaker and Small Group Discussion. What is “white privilege?”  Do you have it?  Can you use it to fight racism?

 

  1. June 7 (Tuesday) at The Table:  UCC La Mesa, 5940 Kelton Avenue, La Mesa 91942

 

Social Justice Ministries Panel Discussion.   Speakers from different San Diego faith groups will share what they are doing regarding social justice. Learn what you can do to get into action!

 

  1. June 21 (Tuesday) at Mission Hills UCC, 4070 Jackdaw Street, San Diego 92103

 

Racial Justice Issues in City Heights and Southeast San Diego.  A panel discussion of local groups and activists, focusing on the issues of the often neglected City Heights and Southeast San Diego neighborhoods. This is a chance to get informed and get involved.

 

All are invited.  Come to one or all, but be part of the conversation and the solution!
