Police Investigate Mid-Day Robbery On University Avenue

LA MESA -- City police are looking for two men who robbed two other young men on Wednesday just after 1:30 p.m. on University Avenue.
Police said the robbery occurred at the bus bench at 7950 University Avenue, La Mesa. Two male suspects had approached two other males, ages 17 and 18, sitting on the bus bench.
The suspects asked the victims if they wanted to buy drugs. When the victims declined, one of the suspects demanded the victims’ wallet and phones. One suspect pointed to his waistband and said he had a gun, though none was seen. The suspects stole two cell phones, a wallet, and one IPod from the victims and fled. The suspects were last seen driving westbound on University Avenue in a newer white Cadillac with tinted windows. The suspects are described as:
1. Black male adult, about 18, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a fur hat and glasses with clear lenses.
2. Black male adult, about 18, approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall, wearing a gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
