Grossmont Center - A man armed with a knife robbed the Pier 1 Imports store early today. The suspect forced the female clerk to open the safe while holding an object, possibly a knife, against her back. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen running into the nearby parking structure. The suspect was described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 6 foot tall, 165 pounds, wearing a black ski mask, gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white tennis shoes.

La Mesa Police Officers, with the assistance of the San Diego Police Department ABLE helicopter and a San Diego Sheriff’s Department K-9 Officer, searched the area but were unsuccessful in finding the suspect. There are no available photos of the suspect.
