LA MESA -- The months of practice are nearing an end. The sets are built. The lines are learned. And Peter Pan Junior Theater's 40th Anniversary season is ready to launch with a performance of Peter Pan!
The show opens Wednesday, March 24, at 7 p.m. with shows Thursday, Friday and two shows on Saturday. Theater officials say the $12 tickets are selling well, particularly for the Friday and Saturday shows and they are hoping the community will honor the 40th anniversary season with a sellout of all performances.
Though originally written for a small cast, PPJT director, Dr. Mark Arapostathis, has become the Cecil B. DeMille of local theater empresarios. This is a Peter Pan with extra muscle and will undoubtedly be a production worthy of marking 40 years of a theater group named for this very show.
The show is performed at the easily accessible Joan Kroc Theater on University Avenue, located at the western end of the Kroc Center.
The Peter Pan Junior Theater is an independent organization that works with students from throughout the La Mesa and Spring Valley areas. The shows are produced at professional levels and are particularly enjoyable to young students who may want to consider trying out for the group's next season.
Tickets can be purchased on the group's website -- www.PPJT.org.
