Entertainment Will Feature Rock and Rockhausen

LA MESA -- The entertainment lineup for the 2013 Oktoberfest will feature bands ranging from local heroes to distant, Germanic talents.
The La Mesa Chamber of Commerce Thursday announced the bands for the 2013 Beer Garden, which is one of the largest attractions at the annual celebration of beer, brats and all things German or nearly German.
The entertainment lineup for this year’s event is:

FRIDAY

Friday night, October 4th - THE IDEAS Rock and Roll Trio from 4:00-5:30 p.m. and then the ever-popular Cartune Dogs playing classic rock from 6:00-10:00 p.m.

SATURDAY

On Saturday, October 5th a once-in-a-lifetime treat  as the Rockenhausen German Brass Band that is touring parts of the United States, direct from Rockenhausen, Germany, will perform from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This brass band will bring a total of 82 people to La Mesa.  Thirty-three members of the Brass Band will perform while the balance of the group will visit and shop. At 12:30 p.m. all 82 visitors will jump back on their tour buses and travel to their next destination.

  The Gordon Kohl Band, playing German Music, will follow the Brass Band and be on stage from 1:00- 5:00 p.m. Saturday. We will again close out our evening entertainment with the Cartune Dogs, playing classic rock from 6:00-10:00 p.m.

SUNDAY

On Sunday, October 6th the El Cajon German Band will play from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and there will be continuous games and entertainment provided by Barry Mantel, owner of Nights of The Sound Table.
