Love where you live!
A haunting, stunningly stark liturgy…
Poignant, reflective music…including Edgard Varese’s Density 21.5 and Claude Debussy’s Syrinx, offered as reflections on mourning and loss by acclaimed flutist, Pamela Vliek Marchev (San Diego State University), who regularly plays with the San Diego Symphony.
And, speaking on what’s at stake when we hate, Rabbi Jordie Gerson of Beth Israel, San Diego’s oldest and largest Jewish congregation.
Good Friday, the holiest day of the Christian church year and, historically, a time when Jewish people around the world have been targeted by violent mobs. As a congregation, we reflect on how the hatred of violence is exactly what is condemned on the cross. It is out of this that we invite Rabbi Gerson.
Pastor Kaji Douśa of The Table, United Church of Christ; Pastor Mary Sue Brookshire, Pioneer Ocean View Church, and the people of both congregations invite you the share this deeply meaningful service with us at noon, March 25, 2016 at The Table, 5940 Kelton Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91942 (619-464-1519, www.tableucc.com.)
