Monte Vista High Modernizes Four Buildings

SPRING VALLEY -- Monte Vista High School and Grossmont Union High School District (GUHSD) representatives celebrated the completion of four modernized classroom buildings with a dedication ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 23. The Monte Vista High School campus now has a new library, guidance center, special education suites, and visual arts and cosmetology classrooms. Faculty and staff joined district representatives for a customary ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new buildings.

The modernized classrooms are part of GUHSD’s Career Technical Education (CTE) plan, which aims to provide learning spaces where educators can effectively teach using adaptable learning spaces, modern equipment and tools to help prepare students for internships, postsecondary education and/or employment. Proposition H and Proposition U, which voters passed in 2004 and 2008, respectively, funded the project. The project team includes project manager Gafcon, Inc., construction manager Sundt and Architect Harley Ellis Devereaux.
