LA MESA – The St. Martin of Tours Academy class of 1963 recently held its first ever reunion.
Students representing all years from kindergarten through eighth grade were on hand. Alumni from across California and from Arizona, Idaho and Oregon attended. In total, 33 of the original graduating class of 59, along with spouses and significant others, gathered on Sunday, June 10 in the morning for a champagne brunch at the 94th Aero Squadron in San Diego.
The group then drove to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in La Mesa for a tour of the original church, which is where many were baptized, the new church, the auditorium and school campus. At the time, St. Martin of Tours Academy was staffed by the School Sisters of Notre Dame and lay teachers.
Dennis Dunn and Christine Warner-Jones, along with Paula Kozlowski-Quint and Cassie Clodfelter-Youngborg organized the reunion. The tour was conducted by the Academy’s principal, Toni Dimuzuio.
