Baber And Weber Win Council Seats
LA MESA -- Some new blood joined the La Mesa City Council as incumbent Bill Baber kept his seat while incumbent Guy McWirther lost out to Baber and newcomer Akilah Weber, who was the highest vote-getter for the two seats being contested.
Popular Mayor Mark Arapostathis ran unopposed for a second term.
And La Mesa voters overwhelmingly agreed to impose a special tax on marijuana sales establishments in the city:
