La Mesa Mayor and the city employee union

The Service Employees International Union Local chapter 221 has a photo on their web site government relations page that includes La Mesa Mayor Art Madrid http://www.seiu221.org/government/Default.aspx

Within the text of that page is:
"Elected officials vote on our contracts, fund our programs and introduce and approve legislative fixes affecting our jobs. As a public sector employee, we are directly linked to the action of elected officials. If we choose not to speak for ourselves, then we relinquish our voice and allow someone else to speak on our behalf who may not share or views or have our best interest in mind.

This is why it is vital we help elect candidates to office that understand working people and once they are in office, lobby them and hold them accountable or remove them from office if they are no longer an advocate for working people."

The union apparently thinks a lot of our Mayor.
