Dogs Like Howl-o-ween Too!

LA MESA -- There will be some scary-looking dogs at Canine Corners Dog Park in La Mesa’s Harry Griffen Regional Park from 11 am to 3 pm this Saturday, October 24. Also other dogs dressed as clowns and cowboys and princesses.

It’s the 3rd Annual “Howloween” Pooch in the Park Dog Costume Contest and Dog Rescue presented by Canine Corners Dog Park and the Kiwanis Club of La Mesa along with the Helix High Key Club which it sponsors.

The costume contest -- for small dogs, large dogs and owner/dog themes
-- begins at 11:30 am. There is no entry fee. Among the 20 vendor exhibits are 10 dog rescue groups and a Sheriff Department K-9 demonstration, said Event Chairman John Palmer.

Food and drinks will be available for sale. Pooch in the Park proceeds benefit Canine Corners, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit public charity to help maintain the dog park. For more information, go to www.caninecornersdogpark.com.
