EL CAJON -- A joint effort of the La Mesa, Santee and El Cajon Chambers of Commerce had entrepreneurs from throughout East County gathering to exchange ideas and promote their business Thursday. Internet entrepreneurs mixed with brick and mortar companies of long standing as all worked hard to keep their companies competitive in a difficult economy. Mary England, head of the La Mesa Chamber, was present as were many of her members, travel agents, beauty salons (including La Mesa's Pret-A-Porter Salon & Spa pictured above) and other La Mesa merchants were reaching outside La Mesa to the greater East County economy. Kelly Wieboldt (pictured below) of La Mesa's Unique Travel Concepts, was there promoting a special tour of Portugal. The event took place at the Elks Lodge in El Cajon. Representatives of both Sycuan and Viejas casinos visited with locals as well. Dominic Dugo, the Deputy District Attorney, mingled among the merchants, talking up his department's latest efforts to disuade local workers and employees from abusing the worker's compensation programs.
