Cafe Endeavors To Help Enlisted Families

LA MESA -- A La Mesa coffee shop is about to launch a two-week fundraiser to help supply child supplies for U.S. active duty military families.

All The Perks Espresso Cafe, located in the La Mesa Springs Shopping Center at 8046 La Mesa Boulevard, will donate 10 percent of its sales to the Support The Enlisted Project (STEP). The cafe will also become a collection point for local residents to drop off essential child-care items like diapers, wipes, clothes, toys, car seats and strollers.

The fundraiser begins April 1 and will continue through April 15. Tony Teravainen, president and CEO of STEP will speak at noon on April 1 about his organization's efforts.

All The Perks is a family owned and operated coffee shop operated by the Vereda family, an Argentinian family that wanted to show local merchant support for troops on the front-lines of America's recent conflicts.
