Bo-beau Opening Delayed To Tuesday

LA MESA -- The long wait for the opening of La Mesa's new Cohn Restaurant -- Bo-beau Kitchen + Garden -- will be a little bit longer than expected.
The restaurant, originally slated for a soft-opening today (Oct. 11), will be delayed until Tuesday, the restaurant management has announced.
This week's rain slowed work on finishing the restaurant and revealed some leaks over the refurbished kitchen that crews are working quickly to repair.
Meanwhile work continues on completing the outside terrace and the restaurants new chef, Benjamin Moore (right), and his crew continue working on polishing the new menu.

The final menu and prices were not available yesterday but the management was sharing a general overview of the opening choices in a sample menu (see below). That menu is a much expanded version of what the new Bo-beau staff offered during the Oktoberfest days, with a notable expansion in mussels and the range of both entrees and the hefty appetizer menu that proved so popular to the Oktoberfest crowd.

The new menu will also offer a range of offerings for children and pre-adolescents. Kids specials will all come with fresh cut carrots and apples and will include dishes like buttered pasta, chicken nuggets with fries, cheese quesadillas with fries -- all for $7. Some other $10 dishes for the 12-16-year old crowd include mac 'n cheese, grilled sea bass with brocollini and roasted chicken breast with mashed potatoes, as well as mini-streak frites.

Given the full tables that greeted Bo-beau La Mesa's sneak-peek during Oktoberfest, Tuesday's opening will be equally greeted with anticipation.
