Cohn's New La Mesa "Bo Beau" Is Hiring

LA MESA -- Progress is moving along quickly at the former Gingham Restaurant location on La Mesa Boulevard where the Cohn Restaurant Group will soon open Bo-beau Kitchen and Garden.
A sign on the door of the restaurant says applications for "all positions" at the new eatery will be accepted today and tomorrow starting at 4 p.m. today (Thursday).
Workers inside the expansive restaurant space have been at work doing the third major renovation of the space in recent years and this one, in the hands of the Cohn Group, promises to be even more of a transformation than when Gingham's owners transformed the inside and outside space.
Cohn's designers are softening what had been a pretty industrial feel under both Gio's and Gingham and, in some ways, is returning to the restaurant's theme when it was known as The Garden prior to the Gio renovation.

According to the website Eater, which got an interview with the Cohn designer, the space will eventually have community tables, a sitting area and outside there are rumors of a special bus-like play place for children as the Cohn's work to fit in with La Mesa's family-friendly environment as well as offering the bistro experience.

The Cohns have used Bo beau, a French bistro doing great business for Ocean Beach/Point Loma patrons, as the model for the renovation of this key location in La Mesa and for reimagining of its menu. Official opening date has not yet been announced.

Sad to see Gingham go but happy that someone sees the promise in the space.
