Spring Renewal

By Midge Hyde

LA MESA -- On the edge of La Mesa there is a hidden away art gallery showing some really great local artists seeking exposure. But of course, exposure often means location, location, location, although everyone who makes the effort finds the gallery a great surprise of truly talented artists work.

There is a lot happening on El Cajon Blvd, new businesses, restaurants etc. which all local residents are excited to see and the art gallery is a fantastic part of the contributions to the area.

Even though the gallery is at the very end of La Mesa., close enough to spit into San Diego, it often gets missed by the drive by public because it is set back from the street, despite the fact that it is a two story building. It is a perfect space for art with large conference rooms housing photography, sculpture and all styles of painting.

There was just a solo show with the work of Stefan Talian with his large format bold black and white paintings and a new reception for new art May 17th, 6:30 to 9 at the usual address 7317 El Cajon Blvd. The art is available to see Monday through Friday 9 to 5,except on holidays. The art director/curator (artist) Midge Hyde is also curating the La Mesa Library where monthly a new artist is represented.
