C. Hook Returns With A Colorful Story

La Mesa – Theater in La Mesa is alive and well. This past March the critically acclaimed Peter Pan Jr. Theater concluded their 45th season with the show “Once Upon A Mattress”. In addition, PPJT's companion organization, C. Hook Theater, is currently in its 9th season.

C. Hook, short for Captain Hook Theater, will produce the show “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, this week at the Kroc Theater on University Ave.

C. Hook Theater is an amateur company in name only. From it’s professional theater scenery and costumes to its professional live orchestra, C. Hook Theater is as close as La Mesa will come to Broadway. C. Hook Theater is comprised of 9th – 12th grade students and is under the direction of Dr. Mark Arapostathis, Mayor of the City of La Mesa as well as Director of Theatre Arts at La Mesa Arts Academy.

Production manager Scott Archer said, “This show is one of our best, a must see.” The 29 cast members in “Joseph” will be joined on stage by 40 PPJT members who will make up the “Dreamcoat Chorus”. The show dates are June 24 – June 27. Curtain is 7 p.m. with a matinee on Saturday, June 27 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door or online by CLICKING HERE.
