LA MESA -- Spring Harp Fest -- an event that has become one of the most popular performing arts events in La Mesa each year -- will celebrate its 15th year next month with a lineup that will undoubtedly fill up Harry Griffen Park again.
Bud Willis and Harmonica John Frazer are out again hitting the streets and promoting this year's event, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"It's always on the Saturday just before Easter and we always get a great and appreciative crowd,'' Willis said as he and Frazer plotted out this year's event while lunching at the La Mesa Bistro recently.
As it has been each year, the event is free, but a $10 donation is suggested to help support music in public schools. The organization has funded more than 5,000 instruments for local musicians in this event's 15 years.
This year's program again attracts a wide array of blues talent from throughout the region and the country. The program is still being finalized as is subject to change, but at this point stands as (click on the links to learn more about the groups):

Chris James and Patrick Rynn will be appearing as special guests backing up the
last two artists.
