Love where you live!
Betty White Belongs In La Mesa!
My name is Lucy. I am a mild mannered resident of La Mesa and have been for the last five years. Coming from Queens, NY (streets of grime and crime) I found that moving cross country to a town like Mayberr----der I mean La Mesa was quite the culture shock.
We all know La Mesa is one of the best places to live (if you don't believe me, ask anyone who lives here)
Why are you rambling?
Good question.
One day I was talking to friends about comedy legend, Betty White. Why?. Why not?
The story gets better. We were also talking about how much she would love it here. Everyone knows that Betty White is an animal lover and what better place for her to be but in La Mesa? Our cute little town plus Betty White equals- I WANT!
With the help and encouragement of a lot of people, I decided to create a facebook page asking Betty White to come and visit us. My little fantasy?- Betty White as the Grand Marshall of "Christmas in the Village" (even if there is no such title, one should be created)
Yeah I know some guy created a facebook to get NBC to get Betty White to host SNL, I figured I would at least try. Even if we don't get her to come down here, how awesome would it be if everyone in our community agreed on this. I spoke to local merchants and citizens alike and they all say to me: "LUCY! YOU HAVE TO GET US BETTY WHITE!"

Some homes are slow to sell even in the hottest markets
With full-fledged sellers’ markets underway in dozens of metropolitan areas around the country, new research has found curious statistical patterns emerging: Even in cities where listings get multiple offers within days or hours, significant numbers of homes are sitting on the market for six months, 12 months, or more with no takers. Among the reasons: Mispricing, excessive restrictions on access to buyers and agents, failure to clean or make repairs, and a variety of other marketing bungles. Read the full story.
