Cops To Firefighters: Oops! Sorry

The following statement was released today by the El Cajon Police Department:

EL CAJON -- On October 27, 2012, a spark from a smoke canister ignited a brush fire near the El Cajon Police Department gun range. The fire burned approximately four acres before it was extinguished.

The smoke canister was deployed as part of an El Cajon Police Department SWAT Team training exercise. The SWAT Team followed all safety precautions, however underestimated the weather conditions.
