Take A Deep Breath La Mesa!
LA MESA -- The Grossmont Healthcare District’s Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library, 9001 Wakarusa St. in La Mesa, will host “Qigong: Meditation in Motion,” a free program on Qigong, an ancient breathing technique originated in China, from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 28. The program is part of the library’s “Wellness Wednesday” series, normally held on the fourth Wednesday of the month. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served. Advance RSVP is not necessary. Handouts will be available.
Speaker at the program will be Linda Dochterman, LMT, a licensed holistic health practitioner and a massage therapist based in Santee.
According to Kathy Quinn, Herrick Library director, “In today’s society, many people suffer from stress, anxiety, fatigue and depression. Qigong uses deep breathing and slow movements to speak to the nervous system and help bring calm to the body. Join us to learn how Qigong can help you in your day-to-day life.”
