Forgiveness Journey – Free of Charge! – and Labyrinth Walk: UCCLM’s 2014 Lenten Series

The United Church of Christ of La Mesa (UCCLM) presents a special Lenten program – a four-week study of the transformative power of God’s grace in our journey in, with and for forgiveness and, on the fifth week, an opportunity to walk the labyrinth, a circular, unicursal, winding route to a center anyone willing to take the journey can find.  A marvelous opportunity for prayer and meditation, the labyrinth walk invites you to liken its winding route to whichever meaningful journey you are on.

On Wednesday March 12, 19 and 26 and April 2, we will use theologian Miroslav Volf’s book, Free of Charge:  Giving and Forgiving in a Culture Stripped of Grace, as a guide and explore together who God is, what God offers and how we give and experience the countercultural concept of forgiveness.  Each session will start with a 5:30pm soup supper, followed by a prayer service and the study.

On Wednesday, April 9, following the 5:30pm soup supper and a time of prayer, the labyrinth awaits.  Stationary labyrinths will also be available.

We invite you to join our journey.  UCCLM is located at 5940 Kelton Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91942 (619-464-1519, www.ucclm.org).  We’re an Open & Affirming congregation – all are welcome!
