LAKE MURRAY -- La Mesa police are looking for a man who robbed a service station and food mart at knifepoint at 3:32 A.M. today.
Police responded to a report of a robbery at the 76 Station, located at 6085 Lake Murray Boulevard. The store clerk told police that a white male suspect entered the food mart and posed as a customer.The suspect selected two items from the display racks and approached the cash counter to make a purchase with the clerk. While the clerk was ringing up the items at the cash register, the suspect armed himself with a large pocket knife and threatened to stab the clerk if she did not hand over the cash from the register.
The clerk gave the suspect all the cash from the register. The suspect then left the store and began running away east on El Paso Street. The suspect was not located.The loss consisted of an undetermined amount of cash, a blue San Diego Padres baseball cap and a pair of sunglasses.
The suspect was described as a White male, 30-38 years, 6’ 0”, medium build, with a shaved head and clean shaven face. Both arms were heavily tattooed and both ears had plug style earrings. The suspect was wearing a grey tank top and black shorts. He was carrying a folding pocket knife with a green handle and a 4” blade.
