LA MESA -- Police are looking for a woman who tried to rob a bank Thursday, but failed to get any cash.
Police said a woman who might have been armed attempted to rob the Cabrillo Credit Union at 7900 El Cajon Boulevard.
Just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday police received a report of a robbery in progress at the Cabrillo Credit Union located at 7900 El Cajon Boulevard. An employee reported that the suspect entered the credit union and approached a teller window. The suspect then pulled an unknown object that was covered with a cloth from her handbag and pointed it at the teller, demanding money. The teller did not provide the suspect with any money. The suspect fled northbound in the alley behind the credit union on foot. The employee was not injured.
Suspect Description: Light-skinned female, possibly white or Hispanic, unknown age, about 5’6” tall, medium build, wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, large framed sunglasses, and a black scarf with white polka dots covering her head and face. Suspect was carrying a large black leather handbag.
