Love where you live!
LA MESA -- Local and county police authorities are planning extra enforcement efforts to curb drunk drivers during the traditional end of year celebrations. Police are promoting special DUI towing and designated driver services.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says 774 people were killed in California last year as a result of alcohol-related crashes.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is committed to keeping our roads safe. That means extra patrols and DUI checkpoints all over the county. Police are encouraging local residents to celebrate the festivities with your family, not the in the jail or hospital. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a crime, police remind. You will be arrested.
