Gunman Invades Alvarado Road Home

ALVARADO ROAD -- A La Mesa resident putting out his trash Sunday night was confronted by an armed man who forced the resident back into his home.

Police said the attack occurred just after 11 p.m. when police got a call of an unknown male brandishing a gun at 7407 Alvarado Road. 

After forcing the resident back into his apartment at gun point, the suspect told the victim and his wife to get on the ground, which they did. Then the suspect appeared to be startled by an unknown source and fled the area on foot. There was no loss and the victim’s were not injured. A search of the area by LMPD and A.S.T.R.E.A. was negative for the suspect. The suspect is still at large.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult, 20-30 years old with a bandana covering his face. The suspect was wearing a dark colored hoodie and jeans. The weapon was described as a large caliber revolver with a wooden handle.
