Two Detained In Fire Investigation
LA MESA -- Two people were detained for questioning in connection with a ten acre brush fire that broke out in the unincorporated area of La Mesa.
The fire is now contained. There are no injuries. No structures were burned. All roads previously closed have since reopened.
A driver flagged down a deputy from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station upon seeing the fire in the area of Campo Road and Via Mercado just before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19th.
Deputies from the Rancho San Diego, Santee, Lakeside, and Lemon Grove Stations/Substations responded to the scene. CHP assisted with road closures while CAL FIRE and Sheriff's ASTREA worked on putting out the fire.
