LA MESA -- A heavy police presence in the 4500 block of 4th Street in La Mesa Tuesday morning brought a lot of notice from local residents as police agencies were working on crime prevention activities.
Matt Nicholas, the La Mesa Police Department's public information officer, said investigators and patrol officers from the La Mesa Police Department were working in tandem with officers from the San Diego Sheriff's Department on probation enforcement checks and anti-burglary and anti-car theft efforts.
The probation enforcement check did result in the arrest of two people, one for an outstanding felony warrant and another for possession of drug paraphernalia.
"The combination of two enforcement groups gave more of a police presence but these were routine crime prevention efforts,'' Nicholas said.
