Young Robbers Beat Man, Steal Phone

SPRING STREET -- Police are looking for three youths who beat and robbed a pedestrian just before 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

La Mesa police said that at about 6:45 p.m. a 22 year old male was attacked and robbed by three suspects as the man was walking south in the 4200 block of Spring Street. One of the suspects approached the man from behind and punched the victim twice in the face. The same subject then demanded the victim’s cell phone. The victim dropped his cell phone onto the ground where one of the other suspects picked it up. All three suspects then fled southbound on Spring Street. The victim had redness to his face but no other injuries.

The suspects were described as:

Suspect #1: Black male adult 18-20 years old, 6’1 to 6’2”, unknown weight, wearing a gray sweatshirt.

Suspect #2: Black male adult, 18-20 years old, unknown height and weight, wearing gray “hoodie."

Suspect #3: Black male juvenile 13 to 14 years old, unknown height and weight, wearing an unknown color “beanie” hat.

Investigation is continuing.
