Armed With Gun, Man Robs Gas Station

LA MESA -- Police are looking for an armed gunman who robbed a La Mesa service station early Monday evening.

Police said that at about 6:30 p.m. the department received a 9-1-1 call stating there had been a robbery at the Arco AM/PM located at 3775 Massachusetts Avenue in the City of La Mesa. Officers responded and found the clerk had been robbed of an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money and then fled, traveling east on Waite Drive.

The suspect is described as:

Black male adult (unknown age), 5’6 to 5’8 and a muscular build. He was wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt, a white t-shirt which was pulled up over his face and grey sweatpants.
