Purse Snatched From Passing Car

LA MESA -- A woman walking to her car in a grocery store parking lot had her purse snatched by a man in a passing car.

Police said that just after 8 p.m. officers responded to a report of a robbery that just occurred in the Von’s Shopping Center parking lot, located at 5630 Lake Murray Boulevard.

The adult female victim said she was pushing her shopping cart through the parking lot when the suspect vehicle approached her from the front. As the suspect vehicle drove by the victim, the rear passenger reached out of his window and grabbed a hold of the victim’s purse. As the suspect vehicle continued driving, the victim was pulled to the ground by the strap of her purse. The suspects drove away with the purse north on Baltimore Drive. The victim was not injured and the suspects have not been located.

Suspect #2: Hispanic female, 30-35 years, with a heavy build and long hair. (Driver of suspect vehicle)

Suspect Vehicle: A newer dark gray Infinity with no license plates.

La Mesa Police Department wants to remind the public to be aware of their surroundings at all times. While shopping, always park in well lit areas and be aware if someone is watching or following you. Never hesitate to call the police in any circumstance where you feel you could be in danger.
