Police Nab Two For Car Break-Ins

LA MESA -- On January 15, 2013, at approximately 7:05 PM, La Mesa Police responded to a radio call of two subjects attempting to break into a vehicle at the La Mesa Indoor Soccer Park, located at 9586 Murray Drive. As La Mesa Police officers arrived on scene, the suspects attempted to flee the area by running through the business and into a neighboring gas station. A short foot pursuit ensued and officers apprehended both suspects with assistance from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department helicopter ASTREA. Officers also located the suspects’ vehicle in the parking lot at the Soccer Park and discovered additional stolen property in the vehicle.

The suspects were arrested and booked into County Jail on the listed charges:

34-year-old Kevin McCARTHY from San Diego:
11377(a) H&S—Possession of a Controlled Substance
664/459 PC—Attempted Burglary
496(a) PC—Possession Stolen Property

30-year-old Christopher BUCK from San Diego:

664/459 PC—Attempted Burglary
496(a) PC—Possession of Stolen Property
