Two Arrested In Shooting Incident

 LA MESA -- La Mesa Police Thursday announced the arrests of two alleged gang members for the shooting early Monday morning of a 16-year-old Arizona youth on El Cajon Boulevard.

The victim was shot in the head after being robbed in front of 7366 El Cajon Boulevard early Monday morning.

La Mesa Police said the victim is from Paradise Valley, Arizona, and was staying at a local La Mesa motel with his family. The boy was riding his skateboard when the robbery and shooting occurred just before 2 a.m. Monday morning. The suspects took a personal item and a small amount of cash during the robbery.

The boy was taken to Sharp Hospital with a bullet wound/graze to the top of his head.

 Tuesday, members of the East County Gang Task Force arrested Alvaro Regalado, 19, at his San Diego home. The next day, members of the San Diego Police Department's Gang Suppression Team arrested Juan Arriero, 20, near his residence in San Diego.
