Police Seek Vehicle That Left Scene

LA MESA -- City police are looking for a vehicle that struck a two-year-old child on Fletcher Parkway Thursday evening and then left the scene.

Police just before 8 p.m. Thursday received a report of a traffic collision where a child was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Trolley Court and Fletcher Parkway. The child was a 27 month old boy who was in
the eastbound lanes of Fletcher Parkway when he was struck.

The child was transported to Children’s Hospital with head injuries that did not appear to be life threatening. The vehicle that struck the child left the scene. The investigation has shown that the suspect car is believed to be a 2006-2011 Volkswagen Passat wagon, white, with a luggage rack on top. There may be damage to the left (driver’s) front bumper area.
