Police Make Arrest In Supermarket Robbery

FLETCHER PARKWAY -- La Mesa police Wednesday arrested a San Diego man who had allegedly stolen groceries from a La Mesa supermarket in July and threatened to kill a clerk who attempted to stop him.

La Mesa police said they responded to a call on July 21 of a man stealing a shopping cart full of food items from the Albertson’s located at 8920 Fletcher Parkway. As the suspect was attempting to flee the store he was approached by a sales associate who attempted to detain him. The suspect then threatened to shoot and kill the sales associate.
La Mesa Police detectives later identified the suspect as 23 year old Robert Titus Jr. Early Wednesday, detectives arrested Titus at his residence in San Diego. Titus was later booked into San Diego County Jail on one charge of robbery.
