LAKE MURRAY -- More than 200 members of the La Mesa and surrounding wards of the Mormon Church gathered Saturday to do volunteer work and beautify Lake Murray Park.
Teams of parents and children weeded, pruned and cleaned and painted tables and benches as part of their church's annual community service effort.
Clark Hendrickson, president of the church's local Stake and La Mesa City Council Member Ernie Ewin, a member of the church, also attended the event.

Thanks to those volunteers who gave up their time to beautify our park.  What a nice thing to do!
