LA MESA BOULEVARD -- Two robbers, one armed with a handgun, hit the Baskin-Robbins ice cream store just after 9 p.m. Monday night.
Police said the two suspects entered the business at 8807 La Mesa Boulevard and one of the suspects pointed a handgun at the employees and ordered them to the ground. The suspect went behind the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money from the the cash register.
Polie said only the employees were in the business at the time of the robbery and no one was injured. The suspects were last seen running east on La mesa Boulevard.

The two suspects were described as:

Suspect #1: Black male adult, about 5 foot 7 inches, 140 pounds, early 20’s, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, had a black and white bandana over his face, wearing blue jeans and black skateboard type shoes. He produced a black semi-automatic handgun.

Suspect #2: Black male adult, about 5 foot 8 inches, 155 pounds, early 20’s, wearing a black and red hooded sweatshirt, had a red and blue bandana over his face, wearing blue jeans and white skateboard type shoes. He was also armed with a handgun.

Police are in the process of retrieving a copy of the surveillance video.

How will this "incident" be interpreted by the council when the year-end crime report is released by SANDAG?
I am glad no one was hurt - but we need more police on the streets of La Mesa right now!

It's the same two guys... go on La Mesa PD site and read crime watch- these guys have hit 90 stores in the past year! I say plant a LMPD at a local retail/convenience store and wait. They'll hit it before long!
