LA MESA -- Another business has been hit by an armed robber.
Late Sunday night police say an armed robber entered the Union-76 gas station at 6085 Lake Murray Boulevard, flashed a handgun and demanded cash and cigarettes. The clerk obliged and the man -- described as a white male, 5-9 to 6' -- fled on foot. No vehicle was identified and no one was injured in the event.
Police said the man wore a black beanie with holes cut out for his eyes, a grey sweater with black and white horizontal stripes around the chest. He also wore a white, hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head, blue jeans and a pair of gloves.
The robbery is one of several that have occurred in recent weeks, usually in locations not far from the I-8 and the 125 highways that police say makes it easier for thieves to enter and exit the area.
