Love where you live!
The recently agreed-to fine of $800k for 2010 sewage spills is troubling. It's true, the fine could be cut in half depending in certain efforts by the city, but either way this is a major hit on the city budget. We call on the city council to provide a full transparency and accountability on everything leading up to, and flowing from this environmental mess. What happened between 1998, when the problems became known because of heavy rains, and 2010 when another heavy rain caused the problems again? If the priority, spending, and risk choices made between 1998 and 2010 were reasonable, there should be no fear in full transparency.Being an elected official does bring tough choices. But with choice comes accountability!
