Good Fun, Good Information, Good People

LA MESA -- La Mesa's Environmental Sustainability Festival on Saturday, Sept. 7th, 2013 was informative, helpful, fun and very educational.  Held at Harry Griffen Park, there were many tents set up where one could learn about Fair Trade, Raptors, Re-purposing plastic bags, Food Safety, The Goldspotted Oak Borer, planting gardens, the electric car and many other aspects of sustainability.  I hope lots of people came out to talk to the great folks putting on this festival because they were friendly and serious about their subjects.  The Urban Corps sent you away with a little paper tree embedded with seeds that you could take home and plant for fresh herbs.  My photos weren't very good except for one  or two taken at the raptor tent.  I thought at first the little owl was a stuffed toy, but then it moved and I realized how well it is camouflaged.

I do wish I could have been there too.

I think the photo of the owl is beautiful.  I'm sure it was a great event and I'm sorry I was unable to attend.  Thank you for sharing!

It's not about actually walking the talk-just ask the mayor!

How many organizers of this event drive environmentally friendly cars and have solar on the roofs?  A fair question to ask.
