After Arson, A Road Trip For Christmas Pageant
CASA DE ORO -- When arsonists damaged the sanctuary of Santa Sophia's Church in Casa De Oro, it meant a lot of changes for the church's school.
The sanctuary was used for a wide variety of school functions, but none bigger than the traditional Christmas pageant that brings the entire school and its families together at one time.
Needing another venue as repair work continued, the entire school took a short road trip.
Thanks to the management of the Town & Country Hotel in Mission Valley, the school had the use of the hotel's main ballroom and surrounding conference facilities to organize the annual pageant and present it this week to what appeared to be an even bigger than usual audience.
The ballroom may not have been as sanctified a venue, but the energy and talents of the Santa Sophia students and families gave it a holy feel on this night.
Next year, school officials are hoping to return to the church, but publicly praised the Town & Country for its help this year.

Merry Christmas, David Stanley! I hope the day is a glorious one for you and your family and your dear little doggy!
This is one of best Christmas Cards I have seen this year. This is truly what Christmas is about, the children and those with the hearts of children. With the ongoing "War On Christmas" by the Progressives in our society it makes one proud to be in the army of believers and those who can and do celebrate both in their hearts and with and for any and all about them. Merry Christmas La Mesa. Merry Christmas Chris Shea.
Yes, I agree with Chris Shea, what a great video! Thank you Town & Country Resort for your contribution of a venue for the kids from the Santa Sophia Academy to perform their Christmas pageant!
It looks like all were having fun :-)
