LA MESA -- Police patrols and helicopters were being used this morning in a search for a missing five-year-old girl who was last seen along El Cajon Boulevard, she's described as a light-skinned black female.

Heartland Fire

LA MESA -- An early afternoon report of a strange odor had Heartland Firefighters blocking traffic and quickly searching a block just west of the trolley tracks on La Mesa Boulevard Wednesday afternoon.

A ladder truck and other fire fighting equipment was dispatched, but no fire and no source of the odor was detected.
