Carolers Enjoy A Warm And Friendly Night On Helix

MT. HELIX -- On a warm, dry night the annual Mt. Helix Christmas caroling event drew several hundred carolers to the starlit heights.

Song sheets in hand, young and old worked their way through the traditional songs and enjoyed coffee and desserts supplied by local merchants.

Christmas Walk Up Helix

Mt. Helix -- Perhaps it is the concentric circles. Or maybe just the steep grade that gets even the healthiest hearts pounding. But there is something about a Christmas walk up Mt. Helix that is transcendent.

I start up by heading down, down the steep grade my home is set on and then down the long, steep decline from Lake Helix due west along Lemon Avenue. Then the climb begins.

Silent Night

MT. HELIX -- Due to the ongoing rain, Mt. Helix caroling was cancelled!



When your event is rained out in San Diego, you know you’ve had some bad luck. Still, we needed the rain and we can all sing tomorrow morning in the shower! In fact, if we’re lucky, kind rains like this will continue right through the Spring and leave our reservoirs filled for the summer ahead.
