Today I learned that a man I really, really liked "got his wings" on September 22, 2013. His name was Rev. John E. Naus, S.J., a Jesuit priest who served the Marquette University community for nearly 50 years. He was 89 years old.
What I loved about him--and mind you this was a man I never met in person, only by my cards were we connected-- was his humble and simple joy. That sounds corny, but often real things are corny. Loyalty. Kindness. Hopefulness. Just ordinary…Continue

This was my first year "out on the street" at Oktoberfest, being stationed at the corner of La Mesa & Palm.

I loved seeing all the people passing by and as I played music from the 50's thru the 90's as well as German music everyone seemed to enjoy this. I could see people walking by and suddenly start "movin' & groovin'" to the music was a…Continue

A short time ago an open microphone caught president obama saying the words, "Make it hurt" regarding a little matter he had his finger in. This, as I recall was in reference to his and Dingy Harry's great plan called, "Sequestration". I recall that quote, reported on television as well as the newspapers. I also recall very early in his administration him saying, regarding the Coal Industry, that he would tax them…Continue
